📅 On Saturday 24 October 2026, Deaf Rainbow UK is taking over Brighton for a full day of Deaf LGBTQ+ history, houseplants, laughter and Halloween chaos!
🎃 Three events in one day

- 🪴 A relaxed afternoon of Houseplant Bingo and socialising
- 👻 A fabulous fancy-dress Halloween party at the Actors’ Theatre
💜 This event is part of our new programme offering both relaxed daytime activities and lively evening socials, creating more ways for Deaf LGBTQ+ people to meet, connect and enjoy themselves.
🤟 All three events will be delivered in an accessible, BSL-led environment where Deaf LGBTQ+ people can take centre stage. Hearing friends, family members and allies are warmly welcome too.

🚶 BSL LGBTQ+ Walking Tour of Brighton
Queer history is everywhere – you just need to know where to look.
Join Jason Redwood, Chair of Deaf Rainbow UK, for a fascinating BSL-led journey through Brighton’s rich and colourful LGBTQ+ history.
📖 From hidden stories and remarkable people to the places that helped shape one of Britain’s best-known LGBTQ+ cities, this tour will reveal a side of Brighton you may never have seen before. Expect history, humour, surprises and some gloriously queer storytelling along the way.
👥 The tour will last approximately 90 minutes to two hours and has a maximum capacity of 25 people, allowing everyone to see the guide clearly and enjoy the experience.

♿ The route will be as step-free as reasonably possible. As this is an outdoor walking tour, please dress comfortably and check the forecast.

🪴 Houseplant Bingo and Deaf Social
Bingo, but greener, calmer and considerably more leafy.
Join Deaf Rainbow UK for a relaxed afternoon of Houseplant Bingo, where you could leave with a beautiful new plant and possibly a cash prize too.
🎉 This is bingo with a difference. We’ll have plants everywhere, plenty of laughs and prizes worth getting competitive over. Whether you’re a devoted plant parent or someone capable of killing a cactus, everyone is welcome.
🤟 The afternoon is also designed as a friendly, easy-going Deaf social. There will be plenty of time to chat, meet new people and catch up with friends in a comfortable BSL environment. No noisy nightclub and no pressure, just bingo, community and an unreasonable number of houseplants.

👻 Deaf Rainbow UK Halloween Party
Brighton, it’s time to get frightfully fabulous!
Join Deaf Rainbow UK for a spectacular fancy-dress Halloween party at the Actors’ Theatre, a private working theatre where the Deaf LGBTQ+ community will quite literally take centre stage.
🎉 Expect spooky games, brilliant company, plenty of fun and a few surprises throughout the night. Whether your costume is terrifying, glamorous, ridiculous or mysteriously assembled five minutes before leaving home, we want to see it.
🏆 There will also be a prize for the best costume. Fancy dress is encouraged but not compulsory.
