Raising Awareness of Deaf and LGBTIQA+ Issues

Deaf Rainbow UK has some exciting news to share with the world! Thanks to a £20,000 funding from Consortium, we’ll be working with the Royal Association for Deaf people (RAD) to produce presentations and videos focused on Deaf and LGBTIQA+ awareness across the UK.

Our partnership with RAD will allow us to work with their staff part-time, giving us the opportunity to focus on two areas. The first area is to present and educate people on what LGBTIQA+ means, the different organisations, and different Deaf groups. We hope to increase awareness about Deaf LGBTIQA+ members, as well as the challenges they face and how to support them. We’ll be spreading awareness through presentations in various places across the UK.

The second area we’ll be focusing on is producing 12 short videos on different subjects. This includes researching, scripting, and casting. The topics will cover various aspects of Deaf and LGBTIQA+ life and experiences. The videos will then be released onto our website, and we can’t wait for everyone to see them!

We believe that this funding and partnership with RAD is a fantastic opportunity to spread more awareness and education about the Deaf and LGBTIQA+ community across the UK. We hope that our presentations and videos will help people understand the challenges faced by the Deaf LGBTIQA+ community and create a more inclusive and supportive environment.

Stay tuned for more information about our presentations and videos. We’re excited to share this journey with you!
